BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Currently, the ASCnet Board of Directors consists of ten members,
each of which has been elected by the membership. The Board is
responsible for representing the interests of all members as it works to
set the overall strategic, long-term direction of the association to
ensure that ASCnet remains relevant to its members, evaluating the
success of those efforts towards the achievement of our strategic goals
and objections, and establishing policies that the set the guidelines
for work and consistent decision-making throughout the
association.
Five of these directors are elected by the Board to serve as
association officers: chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer, and
past chair and make up the executive committee. Officer roles are
outlined in the ASCnet bylaws and include the following
responsibilities:
- Chair: The chair will serve as Board chair,
executive committee chair, and association chief elected officer.
The chair will preside over association and Board meetings, prepare and
distribute agendas for those meetings, and supervise association
governance on behalf of the Board. The chair will also perform
other duties the Board assigns.

Vice Chair: The vice chair will act under
the chair’s direction to assist in the chair’s performance
of his/her duties. In the chair’s absence the vice chair
will preside.

Secretary: The secretary will assure
accuracy of Board, executive committee and membership meeting minutes
and attendance records; submit meeting notices; distribute meeting
minutes; and perform other duties assigned by the chair. In the
chair and vice-chair’s absence the secretary will preside.

Treasurer: The Treasurer will serve as chair
of the finance committee, assure the accuracy of association financial
records, and guide the preparation and presentation of the annual
budget.

Past Chair: Subject to Board approval the
past chair may serve as chair of the nominations committee and will
perform other duties as assigned by the chair.
The Board’s work is broken down among these committees:
- Executive Committee - Primary responsibility is to
act on matters as assigned to it by the Board.

Finance Committee - Charged with oversight of the
Association’s finances and the annual financial statement
audit.

Grievance Resolution Committee - Charged with
ensuring that formal complaints, objections, disputes, grievances, or
disagreements raised by members, their representatives, volunteers, or
customers receive fair, equitable, and efficient consideration and
resolution.

Policy Oversight Committee - Responsible for
guiding ASCnet board and staff through the pro-active development and
maintenance of policy that will provide a basis for consistent and
appropriate decision-making throughout ASCnet.

Service Advisory Council (SAC) - Serve as an
advocate for our members to address issues with Applied Systems,
primarily support issues, when all possible channels between the parties
have been exhausted.

Strategic Communications Committee - Facilitates
the dissemination of information between the ASCnet Board of Directors
and ASCnet staff, Applied Systems, committee chairs, chapter officers
and members to ensure each party is achieving their goals and
objectives.
